I moved to Deer Lodge in 1968 from Sheridan, MT. I graduated in 1972. I make it a point to return each year to visit family and friends. Especially my very special friend Eunice Connelly.

My wife & I were there in September of 2004.  Beautiful town and museum!  Really enjoyed the cars.  Bought a pile of tickets on the Mustang but no luck.  Keep up the good work.

We took a road trip 2 years ago and visited the prison and surrounding area. We really enjoyed every bit of it and hope someday to take our grandkids.

My nephew, deputy Joshua Rutheford was killed in the line of duty in May 2003 and was inducted into the Law Enforcement Museum May 2004. What a wonderful ceremony you had, and I want to thank you for recognizing Josh's courage and bravery.

Most of my family on my mothers side lives in Deer Lodge and has for many years. My mom grew up just a block from the main entrance of the prison. When she was young she remembers walking by the prison and seeing all the prisoners in their cells. In fact the house she grew up in was built in late 1800's, by the prison labor. In the winter of 00' my family and i went to visit our grandparents and we took a self-guided tour of the prison. We had lots of fun and took lots of interesting photos. If we ever get a chance to go back to Deer Lodge we will definitely take another tour. We recommend everyone to visit. Also if you ever get a chance, check out the movie called "Fast Walking", with James Woods. Parts of it were filmed inside the prison and it is excellent. Oh by the way Hi Grandpa Duck and June Bug!!  we love and miss you both.

I was born in Deer Lodge in 1966. My dad worked as a guard at the prison. He passed away in 1968. His name is Gerald Wetzler. I returned to Deer Lodge for the 1st time in the summer of 2002. I was 36 years old. The tour of the prison was awesome. I have never felt so close to my dad. Walking the same sidewalks and just being where he used to be was a feeling I can't describe. Keep up the good work. I hope to visit again.

I spent a few years in there.  Used to be assigned to the infirmary with Mrs. Neville R.N.  Lots of history in those walls.

Stopped to see your museums in July and I loved your town and people and would have been happy with that experience alone, but I purchased 5 raffle tickets and won the 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1!
