Merry Christmas / Winter Closing

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM
THE OLD MONTANA PRISON

Last Saturday, during the Deer Lodge Christmas Parade of Lights, the Old Montana Prison won the ‘GRAND CHAMPION’ trophy for its float featuring ‘Jailhouse Rock’. Poor old Santa was inside a jail cell, having parked his sleigh illegally on the roof of the Grinch’s house. A Prison Guard prevented any thoughts of escape, and fellow inmates played their guitars and sang along with Elvis to support his release. Thankfully, justice was served and Santa was set free in time for Christmas!

WINTER SEASON

The Old Montana Prison Museum complex will be

closing for the Winter Season this Monday, December 13th 2010.

After the final visitors leave the museum at 4pm on Sunday December 12th, the doors will close to the public, re-opening on March 2nd 2011.

The offices will be staffed from Monday to Friday, please call 406-846-3111 with any inquiries. Leave a message if nobody is available to take your call.

Our on line gift shop will remain open throughout the Winter, please go to www.pcmaf.org/shop to see what we have for sale.

Thanks to everyone for supporting us over the last year. The Museums could not  operate without our visitors, those who buy Raffle Tickets, shoppers who purchase from our gift store, our loyal PCMAF members, a dedicated band of volunteers and those who make generous donations.

We send you our Best Wishes for the Holiday Season, and hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.

The Old Montana Prison on the Science Channel

‘GHOST LAB’ INVESTIGATES THE OLD MONTANA PRISON

UPDATED VIEWING  SCHEDULE: 11th December 2010

The paranormal team from Discovery Channel show Ghost Lab investigate the Old Montana Prison in Deer Lodge

Ghost Lab comes to the Old Montana Prison

Back in July, the Discovery Channel TV show ‘Ghost Lab‘ came to Deer Lodge and spent several days investigating the Old Montana Prison. Brothers Brad and Barry Klinge, co-founders of the group ‘Everyday Paranormal‘, were joined by team members Katie Burr, Steve Hock, Steve Harris and Cory Lamey. The production crew set up cameras, lighting and miles of cables to prepare for the investigation. Everyone associated with the production, together with the Museum staff, were sworn to secrecy over what happened during the investigations. It’s safe to say, however, that something interesting occurred,  since Barry Klinge is on record as saying his  favorite episode of Season Two of ‘Ghost Lab’ was the Old Montana Prison!

This episode of ‘Ghost Lab’ is titled ‘No Escape’ and airs on the following channels/dates/times:

  • Science Channel – Wednesday December 15th at 8pm (MST)
  • Science Channel – Wednesday December 15th at 11pm (MST)
  • Science Channel – Friday December 17th at 3am (MST)
  • Discovery Channel – Friday night/ Saturday morning December 24th at 12 midnight (MST)

(Check your local cable and satellite listings for channel number and time.)
