CELEBRATING 250 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE AT THE OLD MONTANA PRISON

The Staff and Board of Directors of the Powell County Museum & Arts Foundation extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make our 250th Independence Day Celebration such a memorable event.

A special thank you goes to the Deer Lodge Volunteer Fire Department for providing an incredible fireworks display that brought a spectacular close to the evening. We are also grateful to MacKenzie River for generously donating the hamburgers and hot dogs that served as the main course for nearly 300 guests, and to Safeway for contributing delicious side dishes that helped make the community cookout a success.

We would also like to recognize the Montana Patriot Pin-Ups for spending the day with us and supporting the Old Montana Prison. Their participation added so much to the celebration as they posed for photos with the military vehicles, provided face painting for families, assisted with our 50/50 fundraiser, and even took the time to personally thank the volunteers who prepared, cooked, and served the meal.

A sincere thank you goes out to everyone in our community who brought a side dish to share. Your generosity and willingness to come together embodied the spirit of Independence Day and ensured there was plenty of food for everyone to enjoy.

Finally, thank you to our volunteers who braved the scorching summer sun while standing over hot grills to make sure that everyone at the event had a delicious main course. It would not have been possible without you.

Events like these are only possible because of the support of our volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community members. Thank you for helping us celebrate this historic occasion, and we are looking forward to making even more memories next year!
